Meet OJ287!
*OJ287 seems to be an exceptional object in that its relativistic jet is closer to our line of sight than any other AGN – we look down inside the throat of the jet.
*There is a very high degree of relativistic beaming.
*The host galaxy of OJ287 is barely detectable, even in the infrared, where it should show up more clearly.
